How does LA16 let you know when to take that 5 minute coffee break?

I explored various methods of how the lamp would notify the user when the time switch occurs.

A speaker that sounds a noise?

I would have to design a way to manufacture a speaker just for it to do one task.
That would increase costs significantly. Some users may not like the chosen sound.

Is the monochrome screen flashing brightly?

Could work but what if the user is facing away from the lamp- they won’t see the notification.
It could work with an addition to something else...

A mechanised system that moves the lamp?

Again, like the speaker, designing a part that serves only one task.

My solution was simple: When the switch happens, both the light and screen will flash a couple of times.

The lamp is turned On

LA16’s light will fade-flash on and off 3x times alongside the screen inverting to the opposite colour to indicate when it’s time for the user to go back to work/take your next break.

The lamp is turned Off

LA16 was designed so that even when the lamp is not turned on, once the timer is up, the lamp will fade-flash 3x times alongside the inverting of the screen to indicate to the user that it's time to go back to work/take your next break.
